One of the highlights of this cruise was when we sailed very close to one of them. Good job. They are magical. Some areas had small waterfalls cascading down its surface. Just stunning! The Geirangerfjord is most often visited during a summer voyage on board the Norwegian Coastal Voyage with Hurtigruten or Havila, or on our self-drive or mini-coach tours. Then we have a number of smaller fjord arms coming off the main fjords. I think cruising Norways fjords is on many peoples lists its certainly on mine!

Mary, Were going to Bergen in January. Bryggen looks so cute, I love those little houses. I loved seeing the fishing and remote villages with dramatic backdrops. Fjords were formed when glaciers eroded and carved a valley between the mountains which became filled with sea water. Beautiful photos you guys. Festspillene, Bergenfest, Bergen Matfestival and Nattjazz are just a few and there are regularly concerts at well-known venues such as Grieghallen, Hulen, Koengen, Ole Bull Scene, Ricks and Studenthuset Kvarteret. Its a road bridge that connects the Nordhordland district to Bergen. This fjord is not well known but the massive sea cliffs along it are!! For the active traveller, hiking opportunities abound, and the strenuous day hike up to Trolltunga is spectacular. Even though some of it's villages are the most 'instagrammed' spots of Norway, it isn't a well known fjord and it has been hard to access unless driving. Terms and conditions apply.
